Directed by one of the most influential anime filmmakers of all time, Satoshi Kon’s gorgeous drama follows three homeless friends who discover a newborn on the streets of Tokyo.
Our annual summer animation festival celebrates its 20th anniversary in August! Animation Block Party is the East Coast’s largest animation festival, dedicated to exhibiting the world’s best independent, professional, and student animated works for two decades now. This year’s edition includes more adventurous and deeply inventive animation from independent and studio-backed artists, along with special anniversary screenings of two celebrated films from 2003: Satoshi Kon’s heart-stirring, John Ford-inspired Tokyo Godfathers and Sylvain Chomet’s surreal, Oscar-nominated The Triplets of Belleville.
