Students embrace the power of the spoken word in this dynamic virtual poetry workshop.
Drawing inspiration from a professional artist featured in BAM’s production of Poetry 2016: Past is Present, students are empowered to create and share original works.
In this program students will:
● Review essential terminology and concepts around poetry.
● Watch a video performance by poet Flaco Navaja performing his poem “I Be”
● Reflect on their reaction to the poem, and write a poem independently or in collaboration with a classmate
● Recite their individual or joint poems, depending on comfort level
This virtual workshop runs 45—60 minutes, including performance excerpts. Fee: $200
