This travelogue by Alexandra Pelosi—yes, daughter of the former Speaker of the House—and Aaron Lubarsky follows George W. Bush on the campaign trail ahead of his contested victory in 2000. At one point it’s theorized that Bush could win because he’s “a bad speaker but he’s truly gifted at shaking hands.” At the time, the documentary examined the relationship between politicians and the media as access grew ever closer in the era of handheld and digital video; today, its view of a genteel pre-9/11 US feels like a dispatch from another planet.
