Set against the vibrant tapestry of historic Brooklyn, Drip Like Coffee follows Kali, a dedicated barista, whose world transforms when she meets up-and-coming photographer Mel. Struggling to emotionally support her needy boyfriend, Kali finds moments of delight through intimate conversations and sharing delicious coffee notes with Mel. NewFest alumna Anaiis Cisco directs this sensual exploration of Black women’s love stories, celebrating the life-altering impact of genuine chemistry and challenging mainstream narratives with its honest portrayal of romance and self-discovery.
