After rising to fame for his brand of demented, paranoiac comedy, Conner O’Malley makes the jump from chaotic cult phenom to feature film director, alongside Danny Scharar, with the new film, Rap World, which has its New York premiere at BAM. Set in 2009, this mockumentary follows a hapless Midwest suburban rapper (O’Malley) as he and his friends attempt to record an album over the course of a single night. Co-starring comedians Eric Rahill and Jack Bensinger, Rap World cements the filmmakers as hilariously haywire prophets of post-internet alienation.
