- BAM Film 2025
Directed by Bill Morrison (2002)
Created by award-winning avant-garde director Bill Morrison and featuring a soundtrack composed by Bang on a Can’s Michael Gordon, this collage film is composed entirely of deteriorated archival found footage. The severe emulsion deterioration reveals the film stock in its basic chemical form and the images likewise are stripped to their most primitive emotional state. In 2013 Decasia became the first 21st century film to be selected for preservation by the National Film Registry.
