Based on a 2007 novella by Fang Fang (Wuhan Diary), Feng Shui tells the story of a woman desperate to ascend to the middle class, and the lasting damage she inflicts on her family. Yan Bingyan portrays Li Baoli, whose attempts to control her surroundings and better her station alienate her husband and, years later, drive a wedge between her and her son.
