Koyaanisqatsi is the Hopi word for “life out of balance.” Through awe-inspiring photography (using time lapse, slow motion, and other innovative techniques) and an award-winning soundtrack by Philip Glass, regarded as one of the most important composers of our time, the film conveys a powerful perspective on the interrelationship between humans, nature, and technology. Without narrative or conventional plot, this groundbreaking film provokes questions and leads viewers to form their own interpretation of the world we live in.

*Includes a pre-show preparation workshop for every class attending the performance, a teacher study guide, and a post-performance discussion
