SERIES DESCRIPTION
Paul Newman gave some of the most memorable Hollywood performances of the 20th century. With his transfixing blue eyes and effortless charm, he made a career out of redefining the concept of the onscreen hero, whether playing a self-destructive pool shark in The Hustler, an aging hockey coach in Slap Shot or a rocket scientist conducting Cold War espionage in Torn Curtain. This is the first in a two-part program revisiting the work of the great American star, showcasing some of his most indelible performances as well as films he directed.
