In a small, run down town, a young woman, abandoned by her boyfriend, copes with the challenges of caring for a self-destructive woman and her two young sons. With the support of a childhood friend (who’s secretly in love with her) she creates a home for the toddlers when their mother ends up in a psychiatric ward. BAMcinématek screens this film, an official selection of the 2005 New York Film Festival, in honor of Sláma’s visit for this year’s series. In Czech with English subtitles.
