BAM honors the bond between beat and rhyme at our annual celebration of hip-hop and spoken word.
Learn choreography and technique in this free after-school program led by Mark Morris Dance Group, a master dance teacher from DanceAfrica country of focus, Cameroon, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. You’ll join fellow high school-aged dancers in a holistic artistic space geared toward expanding your understanding of dance process and technique—and get to experience performances by world-class dance makers on BAM’s iconic stages!

All students must complete an online application and a phone or Zoom interview in order to be considered for the program. At least one year of dance experience is required. BAM will cover the cost of performance tickets, dinner, and MetroCards on days of performances. This is a free program.
