- BAM Film 2024
When fate brings Belfast schoolteacher JJ into the orbit of self-confessed “low-life scum” Naoise and Liam, the needle drops on a hip-hop act like no other in this fiercely original biopic from director Rich Peppiatt. Anarchic and off-the-wall Irish hip-hop trio Kneecap—playing themselves—make waves in Ireland and around the world rapping in their native Irish Language. Overcoming police, paramility, and political resistance to their defiant sound, the group soon becomes the unlikely figurehead of a movement to preserve their mother tongue.
