Based on Hungarian novel Our Street by Sándor Tar, Pálfi’s most recent feature centers on a benevolent man trying to survive in his post-apocalyptic, war-torn village.

Taxidermia
A hedonistic pervert who ejaculates fire, a gluttonous champion speed-eater, and a passionate fatalistic taxidermist are fleshed out (literally) in this astonishingly grotesque film about three generations of a very, very bizarre family. György Pálfi’s demented vaudevillian saga—decidedly not for the easily queasy—offers “an impressive philosophical view of the body as landscape and art” (The Village Voice), derived from the short stories of Hungarian author Lajos Parti Nagy.
Join us for a Q&A with director György Pálfi moderated by critic and curator Aaron Hillis following the screening on June 1.
